Artists Statement

Unique Abstract Art from an Emerging Artist

Samuel Cook is an emerging artist creating dynamic abstract paintings that blend structure with spontaneity. My work combines geometric precision with organic flow, using bold marks and vibrant colors to create something entirely new.

My Approach As a neurodivergent artist, I see patterns and possibilities differently. My intuitive process means each painting evolves naturally - geometric shapes might emerge from organic forms, or bold marks might soften into gentle curves. The result is unique abstract art that can't be replicated.

What Makes My Work Different

  • Dynamic compositions that balance order and chaos
  • Geometric and organic elements working together
  • Intuitive mark-making that creates authentic expression
  • Vibrant color palettes that energize any space
  • Bold textures that invite closer inspection

Influences and Inspiration I draw from nature's patterns, cosmic structures, and human emotion. Masters like Rothko and Kandinsky showed me how geometric abstractions can convey feeling, while my interest in philosophy and psychology brings depth to every organic shape and bold mark.

Additional Information and FAQ's

Who are you and where are you?

Samuels is Samuel Cook and lives near Portland Oregon with his partner and two Bengal cats. He enjoys disc golf, hiking, eBiking, travelling, and good coffee/food.

What is your story?

Finding My Voice My path to becoming an emerging artist wasn't direct. After years in business, I returned to art with a fresh perspective and mature vision. Now I create unique abstract art that combines everything I've learned about life, pattern, and color.

The Creative Awakening When I picked up a brush again, something clicked. My intuitive approach felt natural - letting geometric structures emerge alongside organic shapes, watching bold marks interact with vibrant colors. Each painting became a discovery.

Why Abstract Art Abstract art lets me explore pure form and color. Dynamic compositions can capture feelings that realistic images can't touch. The tension between geometric precision and organic flow reflects life itself - structured yet unpredictable.

Building Something New As an emerging artist, I'm excited to share this work with collectors who appreciate unique abstract art. Every piece represents growth, experimentation, and the joy of creating something that's never existed before.

What is your process?

Intuitive Beginnings

Every painting starts with an intuitive response - maybe a color combination or the relationship between a geometric shape and an organic form. I don't overthink it; I let the dynamic process unfold.

Bold Marks and Vibrant Colors

I work with bold, confident marks that give each piece energy. Vibrant colors interact in unexpected ways, while the contrast between geometric structures and organic shapes creates visual tension that keeps your eye engaged.

Tools and Techniques

I use whatever creates the right mark - thick brushes for bold strokes, palette knives for texture, even unconventional tools for unique effects. The goal is authentic expression through dynamic mark-making.

Geometric Meets Organic

The most interesting moments happen when geometric precision encounters organic flow. A rigid line might soften into a curve, or organic shapes might organize into geometric patterns. This interplay makes each piece unique.

Quality Materials

Professional-grade acrylics and archival surfaces ensure your unique abstract art will maintain its vibrant colors and bold textures for years to come.

What is your philosophy?

The Philosophy Behind the Work

I believe that there is an exchange of energy that translates into impact with those we engage with - stranger, friend, or family. These synergies create something new that never existed before. Taking the risk to create is energizing and exciting - giving out positivity, you get back what you give.

What happens after I buy a piece?

We will process your purchase immediately and ship it out with 1-2 days. Depending on your location you should receive your art within 3-5 days after that.

How much does shipping cost?

All art pieces (paintings) prices include shipping and handling within the United States. We currently do not ship internationally. Exceptions may be made. Please fill out a contact form with any specific requests.
